Londoner and MOBO award winner Lemar took time out to get up close and personal with Safe.

What do you miss about being a teenager?

"It would definitely have to be the sleep! I certainly don't get enough of that now. Oh, and having very little responsibility. And, always being cooked for - I really miss that"

If you could to change one thing about your teenage years, what would it be?

"I was really, really lucky growing up - there's nothing that I look back on with regret or sadness - I'd say I almost had perfect time. But, if I had to change something it would have to be that I worked a little bit harder"

What do you wish you'd known as a teenager that you know now?

"There are lots I wish I'd known back then, but the one thing I should have done is made the most of each day. You take everything for granted when you're a teenager and you're in too much of a hurry to grow up! I wish I had cherished each day because they can be the best days of your life."

Who was your pin-up when you were a teenager?

"I had quite a few, but Janet Jackson was definitely the one - she was hot."

Were you popular with the girls when you were younger?

"Of course I was... C'mon! No, not really. If I'm really honest I was very shy of girls and so I can't really say I was a Casanova at school."

Can you remember your first kiss?

"Oh yes! Who can't?"

Where did you go on your first date and what was it like?

"We did what all teenagers do on their first date and we went to the cinema. It was really awful and I can't believe you've raked it up."

What's the most embarrassing thing that's ever happened to you on a date?

"Surprise, surprise it was my awful first date at the cinema. There I was trying to impress my date when all of a sudden I managed to spill my entire drink all of myself and her. It was so humiliating and I just wanted the ground to open and swallow me up."

What's your favourite chat-up line?

"'Get your coat, you've pulled' Ha ha.... No, I don't do chat up lines. They never ever work."

What's the most romantic thing you've ever done?

"None of your business - I never give my trade secrets away."

Describe your ideal women?

"I guess she would have to be intelligent, funny, sexy and caring."
